To design and calculate speaker enclosures, we are going to use free web services and software for Windows 11.10. There are some free services that allow you to design and analyze speaker enclosures. You can simply enter some input specifications and these tools will let you view speaker enclosure designs and calculations. These show various graphs like transfer function, SPL, impedance, cone displacement, etc., that you can analyze before creating your speaker enclosures.
What are the two most common design types for Speaker Enclosures? What are their features?
The two most common types of speaker enclosures include Sealed and Ported. The sealed enclosure is an airtight case and the air pressure keeps on varying in the speaker as the driver moves back and forth. In a ported enclosure, there is a hole in the front to equalize pressure inside and outside the speaker. To design these two types and more types of speaker enclosures, you can use the services listed in this post. Let us check out what are these tools.
How to design Speaker Enclosure in Windows 11/10
Here are the online tools and freeware that you can use to design Speaker Boxes and Enclosures in Windows 11/10: Let us discuss the above tools in detail now!
1] speakerboxlite.com
speakerboxlite.com is a dedicated web service to design a speaker box and enclosure on Windows 11/10. It is a great service to design speaker enclosures and boxes. You can also browse the driver database on this website and select a brand from over 300, and use a branded speaker design to customize your speaker design.
Here are the main steps to create a speaker box using this free online tool: Let us discuss the above steps in detail now! Firstly, open your web browser and then navigate to the speakerboxlite.com website. Then, click on the Design Box button from the home screen. Now, you can go to the Speaker tab and select speaker model, computation model, speaker parameters, number of speakers, and speaker configurations. Then, move to the Enclosure tab and customize enclosure type, box parameters, and volume generation. Also, from the Box tab, you can enter and set up values and options like displacement, cutout diameter, mounting depth, box shape, material thickness, material volume, and more. Plus, you can also enter environmental properties including the velocity of sound and density of air. You can now press the Draw button to visualize the 3D design, 2D drawing, and various graphs.
It lets you visualize different speaker parts as well as analyze graphs like Transfer Function, SPL, Maximum Power, Cone Displacement, Impedance, and more graphs.
You can also find a Link option on it using which you can generate a speaker project link and view all the calculations related to the designed speaker. 2] subbox.pro
You can also try subbox.pro which is a free online service. It is a simple and good website using which you can design speaker boxes. Just enter the box, subwoofer, and port parameters and you will be able to view the speaker design in 2D and 3D plans. Also, you can check out different speaker calculations. Here are the steps to use this online speaker design tool: Firstly, launch a web browser and open subbox.pro website. Now, from the right-side panel, set up different box parameters including box type (ported box, sealed box, quarter-wave, etc.), width, height, depth, net internal volume, material thickness, front panel, etc.
Furthermore, you can configure subwoofer and port properties such as quantity, size, woofer displacement, mounting depth, brand, port type, tuning frequency, pipe inner diameter, pipe wall thickness, port area, and more. Finally, click on the Calculate button to display speaker design based on your input configurations.
In the 3D tab, you can visualize the full speaker design box. You can customize the view to wireframe and customize the texture and background of the speaker. It also lets you rotate the speaker design to view it from a different angle. You can click on the Take Apart button and view isolated parts of the speaker design.
You can also visualize a plan view of speaker boxes in the Plan tab.
Scroll down on the page and you will be able to see different calculations of the designed speaker box.
These speaker calculations include box external dimensions, pipe length, port area, net internal volume, and more. It is a very easy-to-use and basic tool to design speaker enclosure and does its work quite well. See: Bluetooth speaker paired, but no Sound or Music in Windows
3] diyaudioandvideo.com
diyaudioandvideo.com is another free online tool to design speaker enclosures and calculate enclosure designs. On this website, you can find different speaker-related tools such as speaker box volume calculator, 2-way crossover designer, parallel notch filter, sealer or ported calculator, air-core indicator designer, etc. One of these tools includes a Speaker Box Enclosure Designer / Calculator. Using it, you can design speaker enclosures. Simply go to its website and make sure you are on its Speaker Box Enclosure Designer / Calculator page. Now, just enter the input parameters that include Equivalent Volume, Free Air Resonance, Total Q, Effective Cone Diameter, Resonance Frequency, etc.
Next, tap on the Compute Sealed Box, Compute Ported Box, or Compute Ported Butterworth B4 Box, whatever you want to calculate. It will then calculate and display the speaker enclosure design and calculation in a new tab.
You can view Speaker Box Internal Volume, 3dB Cutoff Frequency, and Enclosure Resonant Frequency of the designed speaker enclosure. You can directly print the results by clicking on the Print button. All in all, it is a good service that you can use for basic speaker enclosure design and calculations. Read: Enhancements tab missing in Speakers Properties on Windows.
